Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Official Teaser Released

A 1-minute teaser has been released, and it’s breathtaking.  The heartbreak is felt within the first six seconds, and I am pretty speechless.

The trailer debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, and shows what awaits us in the sequel without star Chadwick Boseman. The teaser is strung together with the haunting music of Wailers to the song ‘No Woman No Cry’ moving between images of Wakanda’s aquatic environments and a funeral with crowds of Wakandans dressed in white, their color of mourning. The loss of Chadwick is felt wholeheartedly, and they honor him with these scenes.

“I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone,” Angela Bassett’s Ramonda says at one point. “Have I not given everything?”

The official logline for “Wakanda Forever” also confirms this, stating that Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje “fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.”

Fans can also spot a large mural of Boseman’s character later in the trailer.

The trailer concludes with a shot of a person wearing a black and gold suit and unsheathing their claws to fight. With the body concealed, there is room for speculation about who will take the mantle.

Many fans have suspected that Shuri will become the new Black Panther since the character has a similar evolution in the comics. Others believe that Okoye is also a worthy successor.

But amid the grief that permeates the preview, there’s hope, the birth of new life (literally)

The movie hits theaters Nov. 11.

Who do you think will be the next Black Panther? Are you rooting for Shuri? Let us know in the comments.
