This year’s D23 event featured many exciting announcements about Disney’s future projects. One such announcement revealed the next project in the ongoing collaboration effort between WEBTOON and Disney.
Disney Cursed Love is an all-new romantasy adventure inspired by some of Disney’s most iconic love stories. Readers can expect action-packed plots with “dark magic, terrible curses, and epic romance.”
This initiative starts off with The Curse of a Forsaken Heart, written by New York Times Best-Selling Author Emily McIntire with artist Samairu. The story begins with beloved characters Belle and Beast from The Beauty and the Beast. WEBTOON readers will have access to the story first before it goes to print in multiple formats in 2027.

“Belle and the Beast (in its human form) get sucked into a magical world through an enchanted stained-glass window. Once trapped, they quickly realize the fate of the realm is tied to the kingdom’s princess, Emberlynne: a woman who didn’t yield to the marriage proposal of an evil sorcerer. As a result of her refusal, the entire kingdom is cursed to live without love and anyone who steps foot inside it is also cursed. Belle and the Beast will have to not only find their way back to their own love, but also help the princess find hers in order to lift the curse from the kingdom and return home.”
Any additional details and future releases will be shared at later dates. Until then, take it from the author that The Curse of a Forsaken Heart is going to be a worthwhile story with good feeling:
