Giancarlo Esposito “WILL” Join the Marvel Universe

Giancarlo Esposito stated during his panel at Atlanta Comic Con 2023 that he will be joining the Marvel Universe. His preferred role is that of Professor X, but the actual part remains to be seen.

Esposito has already been involved in some of the most successful franchises and shows, including the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, Amazon’s The Boys, Once Upon a Time, and Breaking Bad along with the spin-off series Better Call Saul. It does seem logical that he would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point.

Esposito did NOT say he is under contract with Marvel Studios but did reveal that he spoke to executives at Marvel about playing a future part and also stated that he was considered to appear in the series Loki. He pointed out to those executives the amazing fan response to his stated desire to play Professor X. At this time, he told fans, they are not ready to move forward with those roles. However, Esposito states that “It’s gonna happen because it’s in the universe.” and he is confident that he will be joining the MCU at some point.

Esposito did state he would be open to other roles, such as Doctor Doom or Magneto. He also expressed concerns about playing Professor X as the character is confined to a wheelchair. He stated he’s an “active dude” and has ideas to have the character leave the chair and perhaps “have that chair be a different chair than what we think it has been.”

What are your thoughts? What role in the MCU do you think Giancarlo Esposito would be well suited for? Universe willing, it won’t be too long before we see him in another superhero world.
