The Nun 2 Gets A Release Date

The next installment of The Conjuring franchise will see the return of the demon Valak in The Nun 2 and now we have a release date for the film. Warner Bros. Discovery announced that The Nun 2 will arrive in theatres on September 8th, 2023.

While details have remained limited, we do have a synopsis for the film, which reads:

1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit THE NUN follows SISTER IRENE as she once again comes face to face with the demonic force VALAK – THE DEMON NUN.

Michael Chaves, director of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Curse of La Llorona, takes over directorial duties from Corin Hardy, who directed the first Nun film in 2018. Malignant writer Akela Cooper penned the script.

Bonnie Aarons will return to play the demon Valak once again, alongside James Wan and Peter Safran who both return as producers.

Although the first film was widely criticized as one of the weaker entries of the franchise, it scared up an impressive $365 million at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing film of the franchise.

The Nun 2 will begin filming in France next month.
