Pokemon Day 2023 – New Ways to Play

The Pokemon Company announced new updates in celebration of 27 years since the first game was released.

Pokemon Sleep

This was first revealed 4 years ago and is finally going to release this year. Simply put, It is a sleep-tracking app but with Pokemon. All you have to do is leave your phone next to your bed and that is it. You’ll level up different Pokemon based on different factors such as how long you slept and if you woke up on time. It sounds like a silly idea but I am up for trying it. Just like with the launch of Pokemon GO you can expect plenty of gamers will try it right away.  Pokemon Sleep is expected to release sometime in the Summer of 2023.

Pokemon GO Plus+

Pokemon Go Plus+ is a Bluetooth device that connects to your Pokemon apps. It also doubles as an alarm clock that features Pokemon-inspired songs to help go to sleep. Gamers are rewarded for using the app by unlocking new sounds and extras in the games. In Pokemon Go, you’ll be able to throw pokeballs and spin pokestops with the push of a button. It will also unlock the opportunity to catch a limited edition Snorlax. Pokemon Go Plus+ will be available on July 14th. No word on pricing just yet.

Pokemon Go

Pokemon GO now connects to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. You can send Postcards to the game and it will change the pattern on the Vivillon’s wings. This will allow you to catch Gimmighoul and then evolve it. It’s safe to say we can expect more connectivity features to be revealed in the coming months.

Scarlet and Violet DLC

The biggest announcement was 2 new DLC packs for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Sheild. Despite mixed reviews from long-time fans, The latest Pokemon game is one of the best-selling games. It makes sense for Nintendo to add new story content instead of jumping into another new game.

2023 is going to be an exciting year for Pokémon fans with new games and new shows coming out. Even after 27 years, this series is still going strong. Most of these announcements are weird but that is what I love I love about it. I’ll defiantly have more news and reviews here about the games mentioned above when they come out.
