Nicholas Hoult In Talks To Join Robert Eggers ‘Nosferatu’ Remake

The cast for Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu remakes continues to grow.

Nicholas Hoult is the latest name to be attached to the project with Deadline reporting negotiations are underway.  Hoult will soon be playing Dracula in the upcoming Universal film, Renfield, and will also co-star alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in Searchlight’s culinary horror-thriller, The Menu.

Deadline notes that it is unknown who the actor will be playing.

The project is written and directed by Eggers, who previously helmed The Witch, The Lighthouse and The Northman.

Already announced for the film are Bill Skarsgard – who will reportedly play the legendary Nosferatu, and Lily-Rose Depp.

In the new reimagining, Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him. Focus had no comment on the project.

Skarsgard has made a huge name for himself in the horror genre, terrifying audiences with his portrayal of Pennywise in the remake of Stephen King’s IT and IT: Chapter Two. His latest work has audiences reaching for the pillows again in Barbarian, which has been met with strong reviews from both fans and critics.
