This past weekend at the box office shows Lilo and Stitch are not going anywhere anytime soon. But does The Karate Kid still matter to people? And does A24 still scare us? This is your box office results for this past weekend.
1. Lilo & Stitch continues to dominate the box office, bringing in another 63 million dollars. The movie continues to shatter expectations, making over 600 million dollars worldwide. There is little doubt that this movie will make a billion dollars.
2. Mission: Impossible-The Final Reckoning made 27.3 million dollars. The movie has done well, but the budget is way too high for this one to really be a success.
3. Karate Kid: Legends took in 21 million dollars in its first weekend. The budget was 45 million dollars, so the movie will probably make its money back, but there doesn’t seem to be much excitement for this one.
4. Final Destination: Bloodlines made another 10.8 million dollars. This is the most money a movie in this franchise has ever made. I would not be surprised if another movie is in the works.
5. Bring Her Back took in 7 million dollars in its first weekend. The movie from A24 seems to be scaring critics and audiences, and it will most likely make its money back because it didn’t cost a lot to make.
