HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Posters Reveal Closer Look At Series Main Players

HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us video game hits screens in January and promotion for the series continues to grow. A previously released trailer has already given us a glimpse of what’s to come, and now we have a closer look at the main players in the series with the release of several character posters – which you can check out below.

The series is based on the critically-acclaimed video game of the same name and takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

HBO’s live-action adaptation comes to us from Chernobyl creator Craig Maizin, who writes and executive produces alongside the games writer and creative director, Neil Druckmann.

Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) takes on the leading role of Joel, alongside Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) who is tasked with the playing role of Ellie. Also starring in the series are Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Nico ParkerMurray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Pierce, Storm Reid, Anna Torv and Melanie Lynskey.

The Last of Us premieres on HBO Max on January 13th.
