ANIME Prowl & Smokescreen with ABS? Transformers 3rd Party Review

Transformers Prowl and Smokescreen get a new, anime-style look (with abs) in this two-pack from TT Hongli. Captain Kyle checks out these two third-party Autobots to see if they are cool representations of the G1 heroes.

Prowl was one of Optimus Prime’s trusted warriors and a tactician who appeared in the very first cartoon episode of Generation One, as well as the comic. Smokescreen showed up later and, as Rodimus Primal pointed out, there wasn’t really an explanation. Though he gives some possible ones. The comic book actually had an explanation, as his mind was encoded onto a crystal and put into a newly constructed body by Wheeljack. He wasn’t the only one, either.

These toys evoke a more anime style than the G1 or any real official version of these characters. The angle of the wings and oversized weapons definitely give that vibe. And they have abs!
