A24’s extensive range of horror releases continues with Bodies Bodies Bodies taking a stab into the slasher genre. As we move closer to the release of the film, A24 has released both a brand new poster (above) and the first official trailer that gives us a closer look at what’s to come.
Known for their unique, story driven approach to the genre, A24 has a number of great entries in the bag. Their latest release X took their content in a new direction and Bodies Bodies Bodies looks set to follow suit.
The official synopsis reads:
“When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns deadly in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong.”

The film debuted back in March at the SXSW Film Festival and has been received strongly amongst critics.
Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) leads the cast alongside Pete Davidson (The Suicide Squad). Borat 2 breakout Maria Bakalova also stars alongside, Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby), Myha’la Herrold (Generation), Chase Sui Wonders (Palm Springs), and Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy).
Dutch filmmaker, Halina Reijn helms the project which marks her second feature directorial entry.
Bodies Bodies Bodies is set to release in theatres on August 5th and is rated “R” for:
“Violence, bloody images, drug use, sexual references, and pervasive language.”
