WEBTOON Original Series “Lookism” Adaptation Launches on Netflix

Are you an avid reader of webtoons? WEBTOON readers will want to add this new adaptation to their watch list immediately. Lookism, the smash hit WEBTOON Original series from creator Taejun Pak has now been adapted into a Netflix animated series.

Lookism, a comic with over 9 billion views globally, is one of the latest WEBTOON Original to be adapted into a TV series along with other popular titles such as All of Us Are Dead, Hellbound, The Sound of Magic, and Sweet Home.

As the global leader and pioneer of the mobile webcomic format, WEBTOON has revolutionized the comics industry for comic fans and creators. The site hosts an average of 89+ million monthly active users and has WEBTOON adaptations on Netflix, HBO Max, and other screens worldwide.

Season One is currently available for viewing on Netflix with eight episodes total. The series is produced by Studio Mir, which is known for animating Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, and Dota: Dragon’s Blood.

Lookism revolves around a high-school student named Daniel who can switch between two bodies: one “fat and ugly”, and the other “fit and handsome.” But how far will he go to keep his body and his secrets?
