Regal Cinemas’ Christmas Movie Lineup Features Old Favorites Alongside New Titles

Now that Fathom Fright Fest and the Click or Treat promotion have come and gone, and Thanksgiving dinner has become Thanksgiving leftovers, Regal Cinemas has transitioned from spooky to jolly. With a combination of Fathom Events, Holiday Classics, and new films, there will be plenty of holiday cheer to go around on the big screen this December! Let’s see what Regal has lined up for your Yuletide viewing pleasure.

First, the Fathom Events:

Sunday, December 3 & Wednesday, December 6 – How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Sunday, December 10 & Wednesday, December 13 – A Christmas Story (1983)

Tuesday, December 5 through Thursday, December 7 – Max Lucado’s Because of Bethlehem (2023)

This special event will only be playing for three days: Tuesday, December 5 through Thursday, December 7.

Tuesday, December 12 through Sunday, December 17 – Christmas with The Chosen: Holy Night

Next, the Holiday Classics:

Heads up: Tickets for these four titles are only $5 each, and if you’re a member of the Regal Crown Club or a Regal Unlimited Subscriber, you can bring one guest for FREE!

Sunday, November 26 & Saturday, December 9 – Elf (2003)

Even though it’s now too late to catch the November 26 show, you can still celebrate Buddy the Elf’s 20th anniversary in early December.

Saturday, December 2 & Sunday, December 17 – The Polar Express (2004)

Sunday, December 3 & Saturday, December 16 – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Sunday, December 10; Friday, December 22; & Saturday, December 23 – The Grinch (2018)

Can’t make it to the showings of Jim Carrey’s Grinch on December 3 and 6? Don’t worry: Benedict Cumberbatch’s animated rendition of the fuzzy green grump will be playing on three dates.

There is also one movie that is returning to theaters independently:

Thursday, December 7 through Thursday, December 14 – Love Actually (2003)

In honor of this classic romcom’s 20th anniversary, while most of the other Christmas movies in Regal’s lineup only have two showings, Love Actually will return to theaters for a full week.

And lastly, we have Christmas movies that are new to theaters in 2023:

The Holdovers (released Friday, October 27)

Journey To Bethlehem (released Friday, November 10)

It’s A Wonderful Knife (released Friday, November 10)

Silent Night (coming Friday, December 1)

The Perfect Christmas (coming Friday, December 8)

Which Christmas movie(s) will you be watching at Regal this year? Let me know in the comments!
