Nerdtino Expo was held in Philadelphia, PA on November 18th, 2017. This brand new con focuses on the Latino contributions to Nerd Culture.
While it was a small con, for a first time effort it was well attended and had some great guests. Alex Hernandez, an actor and voice talent (Hemlock Grove, Mafia III, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier) was a guest (see his interview here) and was very happy to meet the attendees. The artist and cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz was also on hand and shared some footage from the new Pixar movie Coco, on which he consulted. Other guests included authors, artists and cosplayers who are quite proud of their Latino heritage.
There were some great vendors and a number of fun panels. Plus a costume contest with great prizes. Showrunner Thomas Delphi stated the convention was a great success and with the great reception, he plans to have a larger event next year.
Below you can check out our gallery of cosplayers who attended the show. We hope to see you there (maybe in cosplay?) next year.
