Horizon Zero Dawn Coming to Netflix / New Outlast Game – FNR

Welcome back, Fandom Fans! We hope this Fandom News Roundup finds you well. Per our last roundup, we have additional news from the World of Fandom.  This week’s news is super fresh with a sprinkle of nostalgia. Before we can get into what’s new, let’s recap the news we already shared. It is time for the RAPIDFIRE!

Amazon’s smash-hit series The Boys has added Jeffrey Dean Morgan to its cast for Season 4. There is no word on what role Morgan will play, but The Walking Dead star will be a recurring guest star in the upcoming season.

The next installment of The Conjuring franchise will see the return of the demon Valak in The Nun 2 and now we have a release date for the film. Warner Bros. Discovery announced that The Nun 2 will arrive in theatres on September 8th, 2023.

Book publisher Tokyopop will be releasing a new manga anthology called Peremoha: Victory for Ukraine by Ukrainian creators. This anthology will be released in full color and debut digitally on August 24th, Ukrainian Independence Day. A print release of the manga will be available on September 27th, 2022.

Netflix has released a brand new featurette for its upcoming Addams Family series, Wednesday.

Joe E. Tata, known for playing Nat, the kindly owner of the Peach Pit on Beverly Hills 90210, has died. He was 85.

A short teaser for the upcoming Hellraiser reboot has confirmed that the film will land on Hulu on October 7th.

A brand new King Kong project is in the works with the iconic monster heading to Disney+. Deadline reports that the new series is very early in development and is operating under the working title of “King Kong.”

HBO Max has already scrapped the planned Scoob sequel but a brand new animated Mystery Inc. adventure is coming to Digital and DVD this Halloween.

Amazon has released a new trailer for its upcoming Lord of the Rings prequel series, The Rings of Power.

HBO released a sizzle reel of their upcoming projects.  The two-minute trailer featured footage from shows like Succession, The White Lotus, Our Flags Mean Death, and to the surprise of gaming fans everywhere, The Last of Us.

Actor Gary Busey has been charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact on Friday, August 19th, by the Cherry Hill NJ Police Department. He was also charged with harassment.

Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever action figures give us a good look at Namor, a new outfit for Shuri, and an Ironheart design that more closely recalls Iron Man.

Can You Outlast…Together? 

Get an extended look at the horrifying game The Outlast Trials, a psychological survival horror game you can play single-player or with others. Outlast Trials is the third installment in the Outlast series, serving as a prequel to the first two games, and features test subjects in a mysterious Cold War experiment. The game is scheduled for release in 2022.

An Alien Superhero but NOT the One You Think 

The door of time opens between the swordsman who wants to seize the legendary divine sword at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty and those who chase after an alien prisoner imprisoned in a human body in 2022. The big-budget film includes some of South Korea’s best actors including  RYU JUN-YEOL, KIM WOO-BIN, KIM TAE-RI, SO JI-SUB, YUM JUNG-AH, JO WOO-JIN,  and KIM EUI-SUNG.  The film is currently in theaters stateside but for a limited time.

A Raven at My Chamber Door 

West Point cadet Edgar Allan Poe and four other cadets on a training exercise in upstate New York are drawn by a gruesome discovery into a forgotten community where they find a township guarding a frightening secret. Raven’s Hollow stars a who’s-who of well-known character actors including William Moseley (Chronicles of Narnia) stars as Poe, supported by a cast of British talent that includes Melanie Zanetti (Young Rock), Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones), David Hayman (The Nest), Oberon K. A. Adjepong (The Dark Tower), and Callum Woodhouse (All Creatures Great and Small). Writer-director Christopher Hatton (Star Trek: The Next Generation) co-wrote the film with Chuck Reeves (Ogre). Horror fans can watch it when it premieres on September 22 only on Shudder.

The Dawn of a New Live-Action Adaptation 

While Netflix’s Resident Evil series finds itself canceled after one season; another video game adaption gets the green light. 2017’s game of the year, Horizon Zero Dawn, is getting a live-action adaption on the streaming site. The creative mind behind The Umbrella Academy, Steve Blackman,  will take the helm for this ambitious project.

The Umbrella Academy will be coming back for its fourth and final season. The entire cast has signed on for the series finale. Showrunner, Steve Blackman, will stay on for this last season and then move on to Horizon Zero Dawn. In season three, The Hargreeves found themselves in a new world with new dangers. Will they ever find their way home?

When You Wish Upon a Star 

The second official trailer of Disney Plus’s Pinocchio film was released this week. The look and feel of the living puppet are spots on for the original hand-drawn animation.  The beloved classic comes to life on September 8th when it begins streaming on Disney Plus Day.

Dino Fury Season 2: Part 2 Official Trailer (US Netflix Exclusive) Power Rangers Kids The wait is almost over! The second half of Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2 will be coming to Netflix (U.S.) on September 29th and broadcasters worldwide will be launching Season 2 throughout September.
