This fun, action-packed look at the upcoming sequel comes with all the Sonic-isms you would expect and sees Sonic team up with his new crime-fighting buddy, Tails, in an attempt to once again stop Dr. Robotnik. We also get a closer look at Knuckles – Robotnik’s new partner in crime and Sonic’s infamous foil.

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
2020’s live-action Sonic the Hedgehog proved to be a hit with audiences and critics alike, so expectations will be higher for the sequel. Paramount have already shown their faith in the franchise by announcing a third film as well as a possible spinoff series centered on Knuckles.
Ben Schwartz will return as the voice of Sonic, alongside James Marsden who returns as Tom. Jim Carrey will reprise his role as the villainous Dr. Robotnik, with Colleen O’Shaughnessey voicing Tails. The star-studded line up is capped off by Idris Elba, who lends his voice to the debuting Knuckles.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 hits UK cinemas on April 1st, with the US release arriving one week later on April 8th.
