What would a Star Wars Day be without some exciting reveals? Well, thankfully we don’t have to worry about that as Disney has released a brand new trailer for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan faced his greatest defeat – the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series sees Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the iconic Jedi master, and also sees the return of Hayden Christensen as the formidable Darth Vader.
In this new look at the Disney+ series, we see Obi-Wan scouting a young Luke Skywalker whilst on the run from Darth Vader and The Empire’s elite Jedi hunters. An awkward encounter with Owen Lars, some impressive action sequences, and a glimpse of Darth Vader suiting up make for an exciting look at what’s to come.
Take a look for yourselves!
Given the events of the trailer, it looks certain that the highly anticipated rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader isn’t far away!
Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
The six-part limited Disney+ series will premiere its first two episodes on Friday, May 27, and new episodes will drop on Wednesdays thereafter.
