How long have you been a cosplayer?
I started cosplaying in 2016, so 8 years ago!
What got you into cosplay?
When I was little I would always watch those convention CMVs where they show off peoples cosplays. One day I was like, you know what. I’m gonna do that! So like a week after binge watching every cosplay showcase video I could watch I went to the store and bought pieces for my first cosplay.
Do you make, buy, or is it a combination?
I would like to say that I do a combination of both! Over the past 2-3 years I’ve made some cosplays for myself (ex. Lady from Devil May Cry 3, Winter King from Fionna and Cake, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many others!). My most recent costume that I’ve made was my Zuko (from Avatar the Last Airbender) cosplay that I wore to ThyGeekdomCon.
First cosplay?
My first cosplay was Juuzou Kuzuya from Tokyo Ghoul. I still cosplay them today, just not as much as I would like to.
Latest cosplay?
My latest cosplay was Lady from Devil May Cry 5!
Favorite thing about being a cosplayer?
I love the satisfaction you get when you finish a cosplay. You are like, DAMN I just did that.
Least favorite thing?
It takes so much time and energy and MONEY. It can be very stressful.
What do you do for work outside of cosplay?
I am a student!
What are your top 3 fandoms?
At this moment, Sonic the Hedgehog, Devil May Cry, and The Walking Dead.
What cosplay are you planning next?
Currently, I am thinking of revamping my Sonic the Hedgehog cosplay. But in terms of a new character, I was thinking of Mizuki from DRAMAtical Murder.
What is one piece of advice for new cosplayers?
START OFF WITH CLOSET COSPLAY. You don’t have to throw yourself right into the deep end (unless you are comfortable). Closest Cosplay is nothing to be ashamed of. It will also save you so much money (and sanity).
