Zootopia Breaks Records – Thanksgiving Box Office

The box office is in, and Zootopia 2 did something no other animated film has done. Wicked: For Good continues to do well, and Predator: Badlands continues to be done right. Here are the Thanksgiving weekend box office results.

1. Zootopia 2 took first place this weekend. The sequel made 156 million dollars. The movie has been a huge hit with critics and audiences alike, bringing in over 550 million dollars worldwide already. This is the biggest opening weekend for an animated film worldwide ever. At this rate, the movie will easily cross 1 billion dollars.

2. Wicked: For Good took in another 93 million dollars. The movie has done very well, surpassing the first film’s opening weekend performance last week. The movie doesn’t have the same response or rewatch factor as the first film, and some heavy hitters are coming out in December. Time will tell if the movie will have legs or not.

3. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t took in another 10 million dollars. The movie has now made double its budget, proving that there is still some juice in this franchise.

4. Predator: Badlands made another 6.6 million dollars. The movie continues to do well, proving that director Trachtenberg gets what the Predator franchise is all about.

 5. The Running Man made another 5.5 million dollars. The movie, while being in the top 5, unfortunately is not even close to making its money back. The movie cost over 100 million dollars to make and has only made about 60 million so far.

Join us next week to see how the box office turns out.
