Nintendo Celebrates Mario Day with New Announcements

For this year’s Mario day, fans have a lot to be excited about!

Final Super Mario Bros Movie trailer

During a special Nintendo Direct live stream, the final trailer for the Super Mario Bros movie was revealed. This new trailer is action-packed and shows a boss battle taking place on the rainbow road course from Mario Kart. The Super Mario Bros movie will be in theaters next month!

On display at Nintendo New York is a replica of Mario’s shoes from the upcoming movie. Nintendo is known for doing things in its own unique way to promote its games. Either way, it’s always fun stopping by the Nintendo store to see what is new. If you’re lucky you might even get to take a photo with Mario too.

New Nintendo Switch Bundle

Despite being 6+ years old the Nintendo Switch is still going strong and has plenty of new games released this year. If you don’t have one already or looking to get a second one there is a new Mario-themed bundle available today. This bundle includes a red Joycon controller and 1 free Mario game. You can pick between Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyssey, or Super Mario Bros U Deluxe.

Wave 4 Mario Kart DLC

Wave 4 of the MarioKart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is out now to download. This includes 8 new tracks from past games.  Birdo from Super Mario 2 is also now a playable character.

Super Mario Run

If you haven’t played Super Mario Run now is a great time to try it. There is a special in-game event going on now based on the upcoming movie.  Every day during the event, one premium stage will be playable for free. You can unlock an extra stage each day when you sign in with your Nintendo account. It may not sound like much but it’s worth having on your fun when you are waiting for a train or bus ride. Personally, I hope to see more stages added in the near future.

Mario day may be a made-up holiday but it brings people together by sharing all of the nostalgic memories we have while playing Super Mario.
