Adventure strikes again!
Netflix’s global fan event Tudum has kicked off and they’ve wasted no time in delivering the goods. First up, the streamer has released the official trailer for the upcoming Enola Holmes sequel, which sees Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown return in the titular role. The action-packed trailer delivers a little romance and plenty of the fourth wall breaking we’ve become accustomed to with Enola, and you can check it out below.
Returning alongside Bobby Brown is Henry Cavill, who returns as Enola’s infamous older brother, Sherlock, and Helena Bonham Carter, who returns as Eudoria Holmes.
Netflix’s official description for the films reads:
Fresh off the triumph of solving her first case, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill), and opens her own agency – only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn’t as easy as it seems. Resigned to accepting the cold realities of adulthood, she is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister. But this case proves to be far more puzzling than expected, as Enola is thrown into a dangerous new world – from London’s sinister factories and colorful music halls, to the highest echelons of society and 221B Baker Street itself. As the sparks of a deadly conspiracy ignite, Enola must call upon the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to unravel her mystery. The game, it seems, has found its feet again!”
Speaking in a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cavill teased how the relationship between Enola and Sherlock has “evolved” since the first film, saying:
“While Sherlock has the experience and his second-to-none mind, he doesn’t have the same emotional wherewithal as Enola, nor does he have the same heart. Whereas in the first film Enola may have learned from Sherlock, in this, the tables may have turned.”
The film also stars Louis Partridge, Adeel Akhtar, David Thewlis, Susan Wokoma & Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and is directed by Harry Bradbeer.
Enola Holmes 2 lands on Netflix on November 4th.
