It’s the holiday season, so how about some holiday games to play? Growing up, one of my favorite Christmas movies to watch was Jingle All The Way. I had seen a lot of action movies with Arnold but Jingle All The Way was the first time that I got to see a comedic side to him. Now over 25 years later Funko has released a card game. Is it any good though?
The Rules
The game is for 2 to 4 players and only takes about 15 minutes to complete. You are going to take the deck of cards that have gifts on the back and give out 5 to each player. You are also going to give each player a reference card and a “Booster” character tile.
You are to now set the remaining tiles facedown in front of everyone in a 4 by 3 grid. These are your toys on a shelf. Each player uses their deck of cards to collect tiles to put into their shopping carts to collect points. There are also cards to sabotage opponents when necessary.
The point of the game is to collect as many toys in your shopping cart to make combinations of points to win the game. When all the toys have been taken from the shelf, the player with the most points wins.
Pros
The best thing about the game is the artwork of the cards. It is beautiful as each card has different scenes from the movie that comes to life. The game also comes with a tiny cute Turbo Man figure. The box is also great and looks like wrapping paper from the movie. The tiles are also decorated quite nicely.
The game is easy to learn and understand which is great for people who might have issues with directions.
Cons
The main con for me is the replay factor. After a couple of playthroughs, you kind of know what your strategy is and what you want to go for so unfortunately the game can be a little boring if you play it too much.
Overview
The Jingle All The Way card game is a nice time waster for the holidays with beautiful artwork. It isn’t anything amazing but it would make a nice stocking stuffer for the family.
