Actor James Earl Jones Dead at 93

American voice, screen, and stage legend James Earl Jones passed away from an undisclosed reason at the age of 93 on Monday, September 9th, 2024.

Jones’s extensive career spanned many great hits, especially in lending his voice for Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy and later cameos and Mufasa in The Lion King (both in 1994 and 2019). Starting his career in the classic Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), some of his early roles included Jack Jefferson in The Great White Hope (1970) which earned him an Oscar nomination, Roop in Claudine (1974), Leon Carter in The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings’ (1976), and Terrence Mann in Field of Dreams (1989). His latest project was reprising his role as King Jaffe Joffer from Coming to America (1988) in the sequel Coming 2 America (2021).

Throughout his career, he garnered many awards for his performances, including three Tony awards, two Emmy awards, and a Grammy.
