The Ghost with the Most is Back – Box Office September 6-8 2024

Beetlejuice Beetlejice was a massive success at the box office this past weekend as many thought it would be. Deadpool finally came down to earth for a bit. It was a good weekend for theatres especially due to the help of Michael Keaton and Tim Burton. Here are the box office results for this past weekend.

1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was never going to have a problem making money. The much-anticipated sequel has been met with buzz for months. Reviews have been pretty good but even if they weren’t, people were not going to stay away from this one. The movie became the 2nd highest opening weekend for a film just behind It from 2017. The Michael Keaton-led sequel took in 110 million dollars domestically. With not much competition coming out for the rest of the month, Beetlejuice should continue to do just fine.

2. Deadpool & Wolverine did drop to second place bringing in only 7.2 million dollars. The drop was to be expected and the movie is still a huge success overall.

3. Reagan earned 5.2 million and that was enough to take the third spot this weekend. The reviews haven’t been great at all, so it will be interesting to see how long the president can stay in the top 5.

4. Alien: Romulus took in another 3.9 million dollars. The sci-fi horror film has now made over 300 million worldwide. With news of a television show being released, it shows audiences are hungry for more.

5. It Ends With Us has been so impressive making tons of money and remaining in the top 5 for weeks now. This week was no different as the adaptation took the 5th spot bringing in 3.7 million dollars.

In other movie news, the new horror movie from A24, The Front Room only made 1.6 million dollars landing in 10th place this weekend. It will be interesting to see if the Brandy-led horror film can catch fire at all. Next week we have a horror remake of Speak No Evil. Come back to see how it does.
