A24’s Hazbin Hotel Gets Official Release Date

The wait is over, Hazbin fans—or at least, it will be soon. Yesterday evening, the official Hazbin Hotel Twitter account shared a promotional poster with “SUMMER 2023” written at the bottom. While this is not a specific date, it does at least confirm that fans will only have to wait less than a year for the series to premiere.

Since its release in 2019 on Vivienne Medrano (AKA Vivziepop)’s YouTube channel, the Hazbin Hotel pilot episode has amassed over 80 million views and developed a massive fanbase. However, while its companion series, Helluva Boss, recently released its ninth episode (tenth if you include the pilot), two years have now passed without any new Hazbin Hotel content. This is not because Medrano has dropped the series, though: on the contrary, back in 2020, entertainment company A24 announced that they had picked up the series for television production. A24 has given us a slew of incredible films, including Ari Aster’s horror masterpieces Hereditary (2018) and Midsommar (2019), as well as the recent smash hit Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).

For such a major company to pick up an independent animator’s project is any creator’s dream! Hazbin Hotel will be the company’s first animated production.

Stay tuned for more information!
