Optimus Prime is one of the most well-known characters in The Transformers, but as was revealed in the last episode in this series, was once killed off. In this video we discuss the repercussions of that, his return and the toys that make up the U.S. Generation One line. Learn more of the history of Optimus Prime.

Captain Kyle continues to discuss the history of Optimus Prime, as a toy, in the comics and in the cartoon series. Special guest Bob Budiansky, the creator of Optimus Prime’s character profile and writer of much of the original Transformers Marvel Comic run, joins us to discuss his return in the comic and how the toy line tied into the stories. This video covers Generation One Optimus Prime after the animated movie up until Season 4 of the cartoon and up to issue #80 (in a 4 issue limited series) of the comic book by Marvel.
