Rachel True, star of the cult classic ‘The Craft’, has signed on to star in a new supernatural-psychological thriller titled ‘The Last Call’. She will lead alongside Academy Award Winner Bruce Davison (Kiss My Grits, Crimes of Passion, Spies Like Us) and multiple Emmy Award Winner Keith David (John Carpenters’ The Thing, They Live).
‘The Last Call’ follows documentary filmmaker, Dr. Amara Rowen (True) in the wake of mass suicide, as she is contacted by the surviving members of ‘The Hidden Wisdom Cult’ in the hope she will be able to uncover the truth. But as Amara’s connection to the group strengthens and she begins to learn more about the cult, she draws a target on her back – one that could unwittingly make her the next victim.
‘The Hidden Wisdom’, is lead by Dr. Joseph Call (Davison), a respected physics professor who has gained tens of thousands of followers in dozens of countries with his claims of supernatural abilities that are able to cure seemingly incurable mental health difficulties. While Calls’ former colleague Dr. Leonard Bertram (David), is convinced that Joseph is actually evil and has more sinister motives in mind.
Directed by Mike Sargent, written by Mike Kuciak, and produced by Michael Alden, Ian Holt, and Mike Kuciak of Alt House Productions – in partnership with PFG Films, ‘The Last Call’, will commence principal photography in Morristown, New Jersey on August 9th.
