By now, I am sure you have all heard that Chris Evans has been named People magazine’s 2022 Sexiest Man Alive! Here at Fandom Spotlite, we thought it would be fun to also celebrate the title any mother could be proud of – by sharing some of our favorite Chris Evans projects. So follow us as we step into the Evans-verse.
Martin’s Pick: Not Another Teen Movie (2001) as Jake Wyler
Chris Evans is well known for playing Captain America but when I think of Chris Evans I can’t help but think of the first movie I had seen him in. 2001’s Not Another Teen Movie. The movie is an underrated parody of many high school teen films. Chris Evans plays high school star quarterback Jake Wyler and he truly does a great job. As Captain America, Evans plays a clean-cut boy scout and in Not Another Teen Movie he is the exact opposite. His comedic timing is great and it’s not the type of role we get to see Chris play often.
Yali’s Pick: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) as Lucas Lee
Since I can’t say when he accidentally leaked his own 🍆 pic, I’ll go with his role as Lucas Lee- one of the evil exes in Scott Pilgrim vs The World. This is when he started to become the megastar he is now. It showed his range as he had to be comedic but also physically imposing.
Bunnie/Tristan: Snowpiercer (2013) as Curtis
Chris Evans is a talented actor with a wide array of films under his belt, but truly when I think of Chris Evans, I think of Captain America. Just like the rest of the cast for the MCU, Evans perfectly embodied that role as if he were born to play it. I will however give Snowpiercer an honorable mention, because that movie was fantastic, and yet again Evans’ performance in this gory dystopian future was amazing.
Jaz’s Pick: Knives Out (2019) as Ransom Drysdale
This choice is so hard for me to make! Chris Evans is so good in everything he’s in. But at the end of the day, I have to give it to his work as Hugh Ransom Drysdale from the 2019 Rian Johnson in Knives Out. While on the outside it looks like a regular whodunit film, this one still continues to be enjoyable even after you know the ending. This is how much I love this movie.. I saw it in the theater by myself, then I went back for a second viewing, and I went out and bought the DVD the week it came out. And I am not one to go out and buy a lot of DVDs. I don’t even own the Captain America / Avengers films on DVD. While Steve Rogers will always hold a very special place in my heart Chris Evans shedding his Steve Rogers persona and taking on Ransom Drysdale is just so epic.
Fandom Bonus Pick: Steve Rogers / Captain America in the MCU
Obviously, this list would not be complete without the mention of Steve Rogers Captain America in the MCU. This was the role that made this already amazing actor a household name and taught us all that even little guys can be heroes.
That completes our list of our favorite Chris Evans films. What is your favorite Chris Evans project? Let us know in the comments.
