DOCTOR WHO: Love & Hate for REVOLUTION OF THE DALEKS – Review

The Doctor Who News Years Day, or Festive Day Special, “Revolution of the Daleks,” hit the small screen on January 1st, 2021. Jodie Whittaker reprised her role along with her usual “fam” and as usual fans love or hate this special. We review the episode and discuss both what’s to like and why people hate this latest outing for the 13th Doctor. SPOILER WARNING!

We got to see him briefly last season, but in this special we see a lot more of Captain Jack Harkness. Not as much as at the end of the 9th Doctor’s run, but a lot. The long awaited meetings of Captain Jack and the 13th Doctor has finally come. Revolution of the Daleks has, as you may surmise, Daleks and other villains and aliens from the Doctor’s past. Plus, as was announced, two companions depart the show. So, the fam of Yaz, Ryan and Graham are reduced to but one.

Captain Kyle discussed the setup for this special episode, the elements and the reason people give for hating it as well as why some fans love it. Doctor Who footage is sprinkled throughout and used in compliance with fair dealing guidelines.

Plus, we touch on other noted things Chibnall has engineered during his time as show runner, the good, the bad and the weird. And there is some speculation as to the next Doctor. And this new companions.

Doctor Who is copyrighted and owned by the BBC. New episodes are scheduled for later this year.
