The critically acclaimed horror movie series A Quiet Place is getting its very own video game, which is currently in production and set for a 2022 release. Platforms for the game have yet to be announced, but an official website has been launched – even if it just displays a release date and production information at this time.
The game is being created by Saber Interactive, iLLOGIKA, and EP1T0ME.
Saber released a statement giving some details of what fans can expect from the game:
“This first official video game set in the terrifying A Quiet Place universe will deliver an original story and gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous. The game is in development by iLLOGIKA, the Montreal-based studio with veteran talent from the Rainbow Six and Far Cry franchises, and published by Saber Interactive, the Embracer Group company behind the hit game World War Z and the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game.”
There is little known about the story at this moment but the game’s official website states that it will be a “terrifying new video game” that will give players the chance to “experience an untold story of survival in the A Quiet Place universe.”
The A Quiet Place horror film series is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows a family who is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. A Quiet Place was released in 2018 with the sequel A Quiet Place 2 arriving in cinemas this past May. Both received a high critical and fan reception, with writer/director John Krasinki taking specific praise for his crafting of an original, highly suspenseful world.
Krasinski has previously said he’s open to the idea of making a third installment of the franchise, so it remains to be seen whether the upcoming game would tie in with a potential third film or not.
