TRANSFORMERS Soundwave Newage Electrum Edition 3rd Party Review

Soundwave is one of the most popular Decepticons in the Transformers line, and this Legendary Heroes Newage edition of Scaramanga (their name for Soundwave) is pure gold. Literally. Color-wise, at least. Captain Kyle reviews it to see if it’s a good fit for your collection. Plus, it comes with Laserbeak, Rumble, Ravage, and Ratbat!

The gold edition of Soundwave is celebrating one particular episode of the original Transformers cartoon, “The Golden Lagoon,” where a source of Electrum is found. Beachcomber wants to protect this idyllic oasis of wildlife, but the Decepticons find the Electrum, which makes them immune to weapons fire, and use it to protect themselves as they seek to destroy the Autobots. All the Decepticons get into it, which makes all of them look gold in color, but makes it difficult to tell some characters apart, like the seekers and some of the cassettes. The Autobots also use the Electrum and the beautiful spot that Beachcomber wanted to protect was a casualty of the ensuing battle. This Soundwave and his four cassettes appear to be coated with Electrum in homage to the episode.
