Spongebob Kpop Collab / House of the Dragon Coming Soon – FNR

Hello, Fandom Fans.  This has been a difficult week for many.  Decisions made this week will reverberate for generations.  Even those of us at Fandom Spotlite have found it difficult to focus on Fandom News when the news of current events has been so heavy. This week we hope that this week’s FNR will provide some levity.

Have you ever been curious about what vacations look like in the Star Wars universe? Wonder no more! Disney+ and Lucasfilm have teamed up with LEGO to bring us a new special. LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation is about the hottest season in a galaxy far, far away.

Netflix has released the first full official trailer for Stranger Thing Season 4: Volume 2, which promises an epic conclusion.

Season 5 is Coming to Naruto Video Game

Who’s Taking a Visit to Seoul City? SpongeBob SquarePants!

K-Pop has continued to conquer the world of Pop Culture.  Former Wanna One member, Kang Daniel, will be collaborating with SpongeBob for limited edition merch. This is Paramounts’ first IP collaboration with a K-Pop artist. The twelve-item collection will be available on Konnect Entertainment’s official shop from June 24-June 30th.  Fans can head to Konnect Shop to purchase this bubbly merch before it is too late.

Preparing for an Open House of the Dragon 


The first of many Game of Throne spin-offs is ready to fly off! House of the Dragon, is a prequel that tells the story of one of the most famous families in the 7 kingdoms.  This week, HBO released a poster announcing the date of the new series.  This summer fire will reign as the show will premiere on August 21, 2022.


In addition to the poster, Funko has opened up preorders for official Pops for the new show.  There are 7 pops for fans to order including the great Dragon–Syrax.

Descend into the World of Aliens with Your Friends 


The Aliens universe is equal parts horror and action. Fans of the franchise can now descend into the universe and bring their friends too.  Aliens: Dark Descent is a  tactical squad-based action video game. The game features an original storyline, experiences, and more. Coming in 2023 to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Caught in a Web of Fame 


Everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is about to receive his flowers! The Comic-Con Museum will be inducting the webhead into its Character Hall of Fame. The Induction ceremony will be on July 20, 2022, at the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego’s Balboa Park.

The event will include a unique opportunity to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition, which opens on July 1. In addition to the displays of art, costumes, and interactive experiences in the exhibit, the event will feature live entertainment, special guests, food, and drink.

The Fallen Order will Rise Again 


Disney Plus’s and Lucas Films, Obi-Wan Kenobi series, recently aired its finale episode. The House of Mouse also has several Star Wars spin-offs in the future including, Ahsoka, Andor, and the Acolyte.  Triple As! Reports are suggesting that they are looking to bring Cal Kestis to life. Fans of the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will recognize Cal Kestis and his significance to the overall story of Star Wars.  A spin-off series on Cal Kestis could be our first foray into the franchise’s video game lore.

Team Thor 

The latest Thor: Love and Thunder trailer provides a detailed look at Team Thor. Along with a very JCVD split.  Thor: Love and Thunder will strike theaters on July 8, 2022.

To the Moon & Back 


Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series is hoping to erase the heartbreak of M. Night’s box office bomb. American actress,  Amber Midthunder, has been cast as Princess Yue. Princess Yue is a Water Tribe princess who was saved by the moon spirit. She was a love interest for Team Avatar’s Sokka. Fans of the beloved series can see  Amber Midthunder’s attack in the upcoming film–Prey.

New Vampires, Who This? 

Who said the dead can’t dance? Peep the official trailer for What We Do In The Shadows. What We Do in the Shadows follows four vampires and their human familiar who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. Season four continues to make the case for blood and comedy with more strange beasts, surprising guest stars, and tap dancing than ever. And this time with just a touch of home renovation. Season Premiere July 12 on FX.
