SPIKE is a TRANSFORMER? – Transformers Studio Series Review

In the Transformers cartoon (and later the comic), Spike Witwicky was a staunch ally of the Autobots and actually did help in the fight against the evil Decepticons. But in this Studio Series Core release, he’s a Transformer? Actually, it’s his exo-suit that transforms, but I guess they’re counting that. Captain Kyle reviews this figure and its modes.

The exo-suit that Spike is wearing was introduced in the 1986 Transformers animated movie. He was seen in the suit during the movie and his son, Daniel, also got a suit to wear. It apparently grants the wearer extra strength, the ability to access weapons, and the ability to transform into a ground vehicle of some sort. This figure pays homage to the character of Spike Witwicky, who was Bumblebee’s best friend and not nearly as annoying as some human companions in the later Transformers series. Plus, it gives us a pretty good representation of the exo-suit.
