The latest installment of the Scream franchise continues to grow with four more additions to the cast announced.
Joining the team this time around are Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water), Liana Liberato (The Beach House), Devyn Nekoda (Ghostwriter), and Josh Segarra (Arrow’s Adrian Chase/Prometheus). No further details on their characters have been revealed at this time.
They will join the already confirmed Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega in the film. Other confirmed returns include Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers and Hayden Panettiere, who will reprise her role as Kirby Reed.
Production for Scream 6 is underway with filming currently taking place in Montreal. Leaked photos from the set have confirmed that at least some part of the film will take place in New York City. We also have further photos that suggest Ghostface’s latest assault will take place on Halloween.
While plot details remain under wraps, it was revealed that Scream 6 will continue with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.
In a recent interview, Jenna Ortega spoke more about this new version of Ghostface:
“Ghostface gets a lot more intimidating. I just read part of the script, and it just gets more and more gory. I think that this is probably the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface we’ve ever seen, which I think will really be fun to shoot.”
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will return to helm the project alongside James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick who co-wrote the screenplay.
Scream 6 is scheduled to slash into theatres on March 31st, 2023.
