Piggybacking off the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony Pictures released a poster for the upcoming Uncharted movie. The poster features our two protagonists, Nate Drake (Tom Holland) and Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg.)
This first Uncharted film doesn’t follow any of the games directly. Instead, it looks to chronicle the first big adventure Nate and Sully have together. By the time the games pick up, they’re already an experienced team of treasure hunters.
The film, which releases in February of 2022, has drawn confusion and jokes from fans of both the games and the movies. This poster in particular seems to have some of Twitter talking.
The Uncharted marketing campaign is weirdly and deeply committed to only ever showing us the same boring images of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg looking like Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg walked on the set and were confused about what they were even doing there. Almost admirable. https://t.co/6IXKGPd7Rc

Babe wake up, a mid poster for another terrible adaptation of a video game has been released

While others really dig the vibe this poster is putting off.
Sonic ain’t that bad wtf?! Plus Uncharted might be a way better movie than you think. Not all video game adaptations are bad, and the sonic movie 2 poster is actually fire tho so as this one

Even further, others took the opportunity to compare the film poster to its videogame originator.

Originally announced in 2008, before any cast members were chosen, this movie has been a hot debate topic for fans. Since casting choices were brought into it, the discussion has only intensified.
The official Uncharted movie poster. Mark Wahlberg looks a lot like Nathan Drake and nothing like Sully. Tom Holland looks like he’s cosplaying as Nathan Drake. It’s really messing with me. pic.twitter.com/Q02tXgYFus
