The spooky season is upon us and we are edging ever closer to the final showdown between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers in Halloween Ends. Up until now, promotion for the film has been limited, with just a short teaser trailer offering a glimpse of what’s to come, but now, new images have been released which give us a closer look at Michael Myers in the film, and you can check them out below.
Halloween Ends will take place four years after the events of Halloween Kills. Given the film’s bloody conclusion, many have wondered where certain characters will find themselves and now we have some answers. In a recent interview with Total Film, Jamie Lee Curtis spoke about where Laurie Strode finds herself at the beginning of the film, saying:
“By the time you meet Laurie Strode, she has gotten help. Help to process the level of violence that has been perpetrated against her and her family. She’s done the work. And there’s a moment at the beginning of the movie where you actually meet Laurie – I’m not going to say she’s as innocent as she was back when she was a 17-year-old girl – but she has a layer of hope about her. That’s a beautiful place to start a really tragic, incredibly violent ending.”
As for Michael, it seems like we won’t know where he’s been. The film’s director David Gordon Green confirms that the film doesn’t explain his whereabouts, saying:
“It’s like: I don’t want to see where Jaws goes to sleep at night when I’m watching a shark movie. I want to see him when he pops up, and he’s got an appetite!”
The film’s official synopsis reads:
Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham, is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.
Halloween Ends sees Jamie Lee Curtis return as Laurie Strode and will also feature the return of James Jude Courtney as Michael Myers/The Shape, Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins and Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace. Andi Matichak and Rohan Campbell also co-star.
Who will survive the final showdown? There’s not long to find out as Halloween Ends arrives in theatres and on Peacock on October 14th.
