Who says ghosts aren’t a Christmas thing? Isn’t that the whole point of a Christmas Carol? Anyways, Ghostbusters: Afterlife was a hit with fans, critics, and at the box office. The film managed to recapture the franchise’s nostalgia and introduce itself to a new generation of fans. Holiday season 2023, will get a lot spookier, as the next installment of the IP will be released on December 20, 2023.
Sony Pictures announced the news during Cinema Con. A video was played featuring director Jason Reitman and writer Gil Kenan confirmed the film, is getting a theatrical release on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023. The sequel will take place in New York City, the OG home of the Ghostbusters.
