Leftfield Media is known for bringing fandom fans some of the best conventions around. They are the creative minds behind Awesome Con, Rose City Comic Con, Anime NYC, and Anime Frontier. Covid-19 has kept many of us at home with no cons to enjoy. Leftfield Media released a statement saying they are, “eager to reunite the geek community in a safe and conscientious way, working closely with all venues to ensure compliance with all CDC and state guidelines for the health and safety of their attendees, guests, and staff which remains their top priority.”
That’s right, conventions are on their way back!
Leftfield Media’s most recent hire will usher in a new wave of fun and yet safe conventions. Meet MK Goodwin, a veteran in the world of comic conventions.
Goodwin has more than 10 years of industry experience working with ReedPop on the growth of events like New York Comic Con, Emerald City Comic Con, C2E2, and Star Wars Celebration. In her new role, Goodwin will be responsible for LeftField’s Comic Portfolio of events, which contains Awesome Con and Rose City Comic Con, as well as new business development.
The President of Leftfield Media, Kelly Comboni, says, “MK brings with her over a decade of experience building professional events with major partners, publishers, and guests.” “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the team, and we look forward to her leadership and strength adding to our events across the US,” she adds.
As always, both of LeftField’s comic events will feature a variety of beloved industry and celebrity guests for fans to meet in person. Recent announcements have included appearances by writers like Sam Maggs (Captain Marvel), and TV and movie legends including Christina Ricci, George Takei, and William Shatner. The events will continue to roll out guest announcements across the upcoming months, and tickets for all four LeftField Media pop culture events are available now.
