In the very early hours of November 20, 2022, an alleged “friend” of Jason David Frank posted on Twitter that the beloved actor had died of suicide. Many believed the tweet was a hoax as it was later removed.
Hours later it was confirmed that the actor known for his role as Tommy Oliver/The Green Power Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had indeed passed away.
Jason David Frank died at the age of 49.
Besides his roles in the hit franchise Power Rangers, he also had notable roles in We Bare Bears, Transformers: Titans Return, The Dragon Warrior, and Sweet Valley High. IMDB notes his last roles are in the films Underdogs Risings and Legend of the White Dragon.
Frank was also a skilled Mixed Martial Artist.
