This week we’re shining our spotlight on east coast cosplayer Sarah, AKA Angel Fox (she/they)!
How long have you been a cosplayer?
Oh geez. I been cosplaying since I was 13 so about 15 years. I can’t believe it.
What got you into cosplay?
So two people got me into it. My mother and a good friend of mine who took me to my first convention.
Do you make, buy, or is it a combination?
I mostly buy. But I [have] been learning more skills so I make what pieces I can or improve the ones I buy.
First cosplay?
Sakura Haruno from Naruto Shippuden was my first cosplay.
Latest cosplay?
My latest cosplay is Loona from Helluva Boss (see below). I have so much fun as her and she really brings up my confidence.
Favorite thing about being a cosplayer?
[My] favorite thing about being a cosplayer is the friends I make through it. Along with being able to escape reality for a little bit.
Least favorite thing?
[My] least favorite thing is the toxicity and body shaming in the community.
What do you do for work outside of cosplay?
I work in the food industry.
What are your top 3 fandoms?
My top 3 fandoms right now are Hellaverse (Hazbin [Hotel] and Helluva Boss) , Demon Slayer, and HoYoverse. I don’t really participate in the online fandom but the people I have met have been amazing.
What cosplay are you planning next?
My next cosplay right now is I am reworking Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw.
What’s one piece of advice for new cosplayers?
My advice is to just have fun no matter what you look like. To embrace your love for the character and just have fun. But be respectful of other cosplayers their cosplay is not who they are.
