Anime Frontier To Host Performance by “EVANGELION” Singer Yoko Takahashi

Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll, the North Texas Japanese pop culture festival from the creators of Anime NYC, announced today a rare appearance by globally-beloved Japanese singer Yoko Takahashi at the 2022 Anime Frontier convention. Takahashi is most known for singing the theme song to Hideaki Anno’s genre-defining anime saga, NEON GENESIS EVANGELION.

The special concert, titled TEXAS IMPACT, will take place at 2 pm on Sunday, December 4, 2022, inside the Fort Worth Convention Center Ballroom. In addition, the beloved performer will also host a panel and autograph signing at Anime Frontier, and the Anime Frontier Show Store will offer a selection of rare Japanese NEON GENESIS EVANGELION items in her honor. The iconic singer has performed sold-out concerts in Los Angeles, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and more.

Designed as an unparalleled convention experience, the festival is thrilled to bring this exceptional performance to a Southwest stage for the first time, delighting Japanese pop culture devotees from across the region. The festival is a three-day (December 2-4, 2022) celebration of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture created with close ties to the creators and companies at the center – bringing Texas audiences closer to Japan than ever before!

“NEON GENESIS EVANGELION and Yoko Takahashi’s “The Cruel Angel’s Thesis” have stood the test of time as two of the most iconic ambassadors of anime to audiences around the world, and we’re deeply honored to now bring this world-class singer to the Southwest,” said Anime Frontier Show Director Peter Tatara. “We know fans across Texas and far beyond will be moved by Takahashi’s music at Anime Frontier.”
