AHS Creator’s Netflix Series ‘The Watcher’ Releases Trailer

Ominous letters. Strange neighbors. Sinister threats. A family moves into their suburban dream home, only to discover they’ve inherited a nightmare.

American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy brings us The Watcher – a brand new limited series coming to Netflix this Halloween season, and today we got our first look at the show via the release of an official trailer – which you can check out below.

The series is inspired by the infamous story of a couple who bought a 1905 Dutch colonial revival in New Jersey for nearly $1.4 million. They were forced to abandon their new home over chilling letters from a mysterious stranger who claimed to have been “watching” the house for decades. 

Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale will star in the series as Maria and Derek Brannock.

A synopsis for the series reads:

After the Brannock family moves into what was supposed to be their suburban dream home, it quickly becomes a living hell. Ominous letters from someone calling themself “The Watcher” are just the beginning as the neighborhood’s sinister secrets come spilling out. Inspired by the true story of the infamous “Watcher” house in New Jersey.

The Watcher lands on Netflix on October 13th.
