Richard Belzer has been a fixture on Law & Order: SVU for over two decades. The stand-up comedian and character have passed away. Belzer was 78 years old.
According to reports, Belzer “passed away peacefully” early Sunday morning local time at his home in France.
Fans know the actor for his role as Detective John Munch on Law & Order: SVU. Belzer has had many memorable roles in The Wire, X-Files, Scarface, The Flash, and Arrested Development.
The actor has also played a character named John Munch on over five different shows! Belzer even parodied himself on Sesame Street.
