Avatar In Concert Kicks Off World Tour

The first of over 150 performances for Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert is TONIGHT (August 16) at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia. The venue’s website describes the event as follows:

Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert offers a captivating experience, blending a live orchestral performance of the iconic series soundtrack with an immersive two-hour recap of the animated show’s three seasons on a full-size cinema screen. The projection preserves the original dialogue and sound effects, allowing the orchestra to seamlessly synchronize with the show scenes. The result? A truly grandiose and immersive concert experience, that breathes new life into the beloved series.

The concert premiered earlier this year at the Royal Festival Hall in London on January 21. Series co-creator Bryan Konietzko attended and posted about the event on his Instagram. When the concert series was first announced back in April, the performances were set to begin on September 7; however, the announcement was so well received that more dates were added the following month. Most of the tour dates are listed on the poster below, but a few more have been added since its publication such as a performance in Groningen, Netherlands on May 2. You can view the complete list here or on the official Avatar In Concert website (although the latter requires lots of clicking “LOAD MORE”).

The tour is divided into two parts: the North America Tour from August 2024 to April 2025, and the European Tour from February to May 2025. The website also mentions a one-stop Asian Tour in Kuala Lumpur on September 14, although this show does not appear in any other Tour Dates lists. Many fans were disappointed that despite being labeled a “World” Tour, the performance locations only include the United States, Canada, and 15 countries in Europe (plus the unlisted Kuala Lumpur performance). It is possible that following this tour’s success, the show may eventually come to other continents as well, although this is only speculation.

14 shows, including both the matinee and evening performances in Dallas on September 15 and the October 9 performance in Philadelphia, have already sold out, but there are still tickets available for plenty of other dates. Tickets for Sacramento on November 27, Salt Lake City on December 1, Denver on December 2, and North Charleston on December 10 are not on sale yet.  To purchase tickets and find more information, visit https://www.avatarinconcert.com/.
