Iconic horror comic Something is Killing the Children released on WEBTOON on Monday, April 20th. Originally a comic book series created by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera and published by Boom! Studios, the story is coming to an all-new vertical scrolling format with the WEBTOON company.
This launch allows new fans and old fans to come together to read this modern horror story. With “over five million copies sold and live action and animation adaptations in development with Blumhouse,” this collaboration merely expands the availability of SIKTC.
Something is Killing the Children has many accolades and nominations, including multiple Eisner Awards, Ringo Awards, and a Bram Stoker Award.

Readers can expect a release every Tuesday, with five chapters available immediately. Check out the summary from WEBTOON:
When the children in a sleepy Wisconsin town begin to go missing, all hope seems lost. Most children never return, and those that do have terrible stories of terrifying creatures that live in the shadows. But even monsters fear the mysterious stranger that arrives shortly after. She believes the children and claims to be the only one who sees what they can see… Her name is Erica Slaughter. She kills monsters. This is all she does, and she bears the cost because it must be done. Experience the horror phenomenon by the Eisner-Award winning team of visionary writer James Tynion IV and celebrated artist Werther Dell’Edera! This series contains graphic depictions of violence against minors, including intense gore and distressing imagery. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
Fans of horror can find themselves intrigued by the stunning dimensional art and taken in by the badassery of main character Erica Slaughter.
With the comic many issues along (including multiple “sagas,” which I suspect could become seasons) and continuing, I can see SIKTC becoming a long running WEBTOON hit.
I, for one, am excited to sink my teeth into this story. WEBTOON has always been a spot for me to easily access artistic stories!
