Weapons Crushes All-Box Office Results-August 8-10,2025

This past weekend, many people headed to the movies. We saw a sequel to a 20-year-old Disney comedy as well as another big drop for Fantastic Four. The biggest story of the weekend, though, is how insanely well a new horror movie did. Here are your weekend box office results.

1. Weapons took first place this past weekend, bringing in 42.5 million dollars. This is amazing for the film as it has already surpassed its budget worldwide. This is also the 6th release in a row from Warner Bros. to take the top spot. The movie has been well-received by critics and audiences and is one of the most original horror films this year. It seems the movie can indeed have legs, as there is not much competition in the upcoming weeks. Horror is alive and well.

2. Freakier Friday made 29 million dollars in its opening weekend. This is very good for the Disney sequel, with it also already making its budget back worldwide. This idea sounded like a straight-to-streaming Disney Plus movie, but putting it in theatres proved to be the best idea.

3. Fantastic Four: First Steps made another 15.5 million dollars. The movie has done well, but way below the expectations that Marvel had for it. It will be very interesting to see what will become of Marvel in the upcoming years.

4. Bad Guys 2 made 10.4 million in its second week. The movie just made its budget back and doesn’t seem to be as big a hit as the first movie overall.

5. The Naked Gun made 8.4 million dollars this time around. The movie has been a moderate hit only, even with the great reviews from audiences and critics.

Join us next week to see how the box office turns out.
