Fast X has been out for the past couple of weeks and continues to make money. It is crazy to believe that the Fast and Furious franchise has been going on for over 20 years now with over 10 films having been released. With the announcement of a spinoff film on the way and 2 more “final” films, this franchise has had a lot of unique villains.
What once started out as a film about racing, has now become an action-packed juggernaut of a franchise about family. We have seen villains such as Charlize Theron, John Cena, Jason Statham, and most recently Jason Mamoa. These films have become somewhat of an event where it’s fun to see who will join next.
Here are 5 actors who would make fun additions to the Fast and Furious franchise.
1. Dave Bautista
This choice makes the most sense to me. Dave Bautista’s career has definitely skyrocketed in recent years. With big films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Dune under his belt, he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Why not join Dominic Toretto and his crew? It would also bring another wrestler-turned-actor into the franchise after John Cena. You can definitely see Bautista being a villain looking to break apart the family by any means necessary while also adding a comedic edge.
2. Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt is a great actor who can have a lot of fun getting lost in a role. In recent movies such as The Lost City and Bullet Train, you can tell he still has a good grasp on action and comedic timing.
Jason Mamoa’s recent take on a villain was very comedic and it would be fun to see Brad Pitt go in a similar direction. A character you like but definitely has some screws loose.
3. Keanu Reeves
Everyone loves Keanu Reeves. He is a man who has absolutely reignited his career through the John Wick franchise. It would be great to see him play an assassin-type villain going up against the Fast Crew.
This choice does seem possible as Keanu Reeves was actually in talks to appear in the spin-off Hobbes and Shaw but it just didn’t work out. Maybe the door is open to appear in the finale.
4. Michelle Yeoh
After the success of Everything Everywhere All at Once, I am so happy that more and more people have become aware of Michelle Yeoh. She has been a treasure for years and I think she would make a great addition to this franchise.
Besides Jason Statham, there hasn’t really been a character who can fight. Michelle Yeoh can definitely handle herself if you have seen films such as Supercop. It would be entertaining to see her play a cold villain that could beat any of our heroes in a fistfight.
5. Nicolas Cage
Does this choice really need any explanation? Nicolas Cage is a national treasure. A man who carried the unbearable weight of massive talent. Why this man hasn’t already been in this franchise is a crime.
We have seen him in Gone in 60 Seconds, so we know he could handle himself behind the wheel of a car. Nicolas Cage running around some big city causing chaos everywhere he goes while spitting out one-liners and screaming randomly at the top of his lungs is something we definitely need to see.
